Seasonal Influenza Vaccination Outreach Service

Seasonal influenza (Influenza) is an acute illness of the respiratory tract caused by influenza viruses. Though commonly recovered in 2 to 7 days, influenza can pose threat to the children, elderly and immune-compromised persons, causing serious complications or even death. According to the Centre for Health Protection, an early vaccination of influenza vaccine for susceptible groups is recommended to prevent the disease and the adverse health impact.

To promote community-wide influenza vaccination, The Lok Sin Tong Benevolent Society Kowloon has launched the Seasonal Influenza Vaccination Outreach Service. Our outreach medical team will provide influenza vaccination services to service users at schools, residential homes, day centers and offices. Eligible groups* shall receive full subsidy from the Department of Health.

* Eligible groups: Children (6 months old to 12 years old), Adult (50 years old or above), Pregnant Women, Person with Intellectual Disability, Recipients of Disability Allowance

Service Period: Mid-October to Mid-February of the next year

Service Target: Schools, Residential Homes, Day Centres and Offices
