We Share! We Can!
In view of the soaring seasonally adjusted unemployment rate and underemployment rate for January to March this year at their highest levels in recent years due to the severe blow dealt by the COVID-19 epidemic to economic activities in Hong Kong.
The Lok Sin Tong Benevolent Society, Kowloon, joins hands with the Project WeCan and Faculty of Social Science, HKU, to launch the pilot project of “We Share! We Can”, to help the student whom family’s financial is falling into the hardship these months.
As HKSAR Government announced handing out HK$10,000 to about seven million adult permanent residents, our project aimed at calling more kindhearted people to donate and transfer their $10,000 to the deprived students, assisting students’ families to alleviate financial hardship, constructing Hong Kong into a harmonious and caring Society.
To ensure all money donated by a donor will go to the student beneficiary directly, Lok Sin Tong will bear all costs of administration in connection with this project. To cultivate our students with civic awareness of citizens and spirit of “Taken from Society, Give Back to Society”, all benefited students would send back their appreciations to the donors by means of writing a card or arts making.
To date, we have raised a little seed money for this project and hope to raise more to let more needy students to be benefited.
