Aim

To provide a comprehensive residential service that emerges from professional knowledge and love, thus enables the elderly a joyful life.

 

Objectives

  • To keep the home clean and to provide a comfortable living environment to the residents;
  • To provide proper care and high quality care home services;
  • To set up tailor-made individual care plan and rehabilitation plan to each resident;
  • To carry out different kinds of activities and groups so as to enhance residents’ potential and self-esteem;
  • To encourage residents to be volunteers. Show concern for others and build up a mutual-care life.

 

Eligibility criteria

  1. For long-term care resident:
  • Aged 65 or above who, for personal, social, health and/or other reasons, cannot adequately be taken care of at home. Persons aged between 60 and 64 may also apply if there is a proven need.
  • No infectious disease and suitable for communal living.
  1. For residential respite service:
  • Male elderly persons aged 60 or above can apply for respite service placement.
  • No infectious disease and suitable for communal living.

 

Facilities and Environment

The Leung Kau Kui home for the elderly has 32 rooms. Each bedroom, which is equipped with a washroom, medical beds, wardrobes, chairs and bedding, can accommodate 3 residents. Besides, fire alarm and call bell facilities are available to ensure the safety of the residents. 

Our home is surrounded with a lot of public facilities such as parks, shopping center, bus terminus, wet market, post office, supermarkets, banks, and many other shops. These facilities keep residents being connected with the community, and also provide convenience towards their carers.

 

Service Provided

Our Home provides residential care, meals, personal care and nursing care for elders who suffer from physical and/or cognitive impairment requiring assistance in activities of daily living.

 

Our Home provides the following services:-

  • accommodation within shared rooms;
  • at least three meals a day, plus snacks;
  • social work service such as assessment, counselling, referrals and organizing activities, etc.;
  • nursing services, including administration and supervision of medication;
  • on-site medical consultation service by registered medical practitioner (i.e. visiting medical officer (VMO)), other than community geriatric assessment teams or clinics provided by the Government or the Hospital Authority;
  • personal care services, including assistance with activities of daily living;
  • therapeutic exercise and treatment (including services provided by speech therapist), on either a group or individual basis, to maintain or improve the physical and cognitive functioning of residents;
  • activities organized on a regular basis to meet the social and recreational needs of residents, to encourage residents to pursue their own interest and to maintain contact with the community and families;
  • laundry service; and
  • staff on duty 24 hours per day.

 

Application for Admission

Elderly or their care givers could apply the residential service for the elderly through referring workers from the Social Welfare Department (SWD) or Elderly Services Units of Non-Government Organization. Elderly persons are required to undergo “Standardized Care Need Assessment” from SWD, and will be matched with appropriate service according to the assessment results. Our Home could provide service for those fit for admission to Care and Attention home service. Considering to residential respite service, those applicants could also be referred to acquire service from above or Elderly Services Units.

 

Departure from the home

For long-term care resident: One-month notice or one-month notice payment to the home is required. Residential respite case could leave the service after the agreed period.

 

Home Fees

According to the guidance from Social Welfare Department, our monthly fee is HKD 2,060, and Day respite fee is HKD62.
