Lok Sin Tong Charity Walk 2018

Walk Together to Raise Funds for Lok Sin Tong’s Services

(24th November 2018, Hong Kong) The kick-off ceremony of “Lok Sin Tong Charity Walk 2018” (The Walk) was held successfully at Sha Tin Racecourse today. Director of Home Affairs, Miss. Janice TSE, JP, officiated the ceremony. Judas Law (羅凱鈴) was appointed as the “Charity Walk Ambassador”.

Mr. LEE Shing Put, Chairman of Lok Sin Tong, said in the welcome speech that The Walk was one of the flagship fundraising events of Lok Sin Tong since 1998. The Walk revealed the team spirit of Lok Sin Tong and generous support of participants and donors. He also mentioned that Lok Sin Tong further extended the range of services this year, including the 2nd and 3rd phase of “Lok Sin Tong Social Housing Project” and Lok Sin Tong 3rd social enterprise – “LST RehaCare” which was opened in June. Moreover, “Lok Sin Tong 1st Care for Disadvantaged Group – Innovation and Technology Design Competition” was held in response to the STEM education introduced by the Education Bureau. The competition welcomed all secondary and primary schools in Hong Kong to participate.

Mr. Mok Michael Man Too, The Chairman of the Charity Walk, praised the lively character named “Something Something” for highlighting the theme of The Walk. The Walk had been supported by various companies and organizations from all generations for years. The Mok’s family and a volunteer team of “Biu Chun Watch Hands & Parts Manufacturers Limited”, Mr. Mok’s company, also participated in The Walk for fundraising.

Judas Law showed her support by performing two popular songs which drove the event’s atmosphere to climax. In response to Judas’s call, her supporters donated to support The Walk. The champion and the first runner-up of “Overall Company/Organization Top Fundraisers 2018” were granted to recognize their contribution. In addition, Mr. Mak Cheung Ching (Mak Bau), local famous artist, also joined the walk to showed his support to Lok Sin Tong.

Led by the Dragon and Lion dance team, Miss. Janice TSE, JP, the Executive Committee Members of Lok Sin Tong and Judas Law, started the charity Walk from Sha Tin Racecourse, alongside Shing Mun River, to Sha Tin Park.
