Grand Opening of Lok Sin Tong Lee Yin Yee Kindergarten
Lok Sin Tong’s first reprovisioned kindergarten at Shui Chuen O Estate, Shatin
(11 December 2017, Hong Kong) As one of the school sponsoring bodies in Hong Kong, The Lok Sin Tong Benevolent Society, Kowloon (LST) has developed its Pre-school Education for over 30 years. The grand opening of our first reprovisioned kindergarten - “Lok Sin Tong Lee Yin Yee Kindergarten” was held today. It was our honor to have Mr. Kevin Yeung, JP, Secretary for Education of HKSAR, along with Mr. Lee Yin Yee, BBS, MH, Main Patron of Lee Yin Yee Kindergarten and Member of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and Ir. Eric Kwok, Chairman of LST, to officiate the ceremony.
“Lok Sin Tong Lee Yin Yee Kindergarten” formerly known as “Lok Sin Tong Kindergarten” was the first kindergarten managed by LST in Kwun Tong for over 35 years. Under the School Allocation Exercise of Education Bureau, Lok Sin Tong Kindergarten successfully gained the opportunity to relocate to a new school site at Shui Chuen O Estate, Shatin . With a generous donation of 3 million Hong Kong Dollars from Mr. Lee Yin Yee BBS, MH, the kindergarten was able to provide better education service for the students.
In the opening ceremony, Ir. Eric Kwok, Chairman of LST, said that the allocation project started in 2015. He sincerely thanked Mr. Clifford Leung, MH and Mr. Kyran Sze, MH, Former Chairmen of LST for their great leadership and efforts leading to the success of this project. In addition, he also expressed his gratitude towards the support from Education Bureau, staff of kindergarten to mark the success of smooth start of school in September this year.
LST. Mr. Put Lee, first Vice Chairman of LST and son of Mr. Lee Yin Yee, BBS, MH, mentioned that his family was keen to support various charitable projects, particularly educational projects, in China, Hong Kong and Macau as they recognized the importance of positive impact and long-term effect brought by education to the community.
The Lee family had been supportive to LST. Mr. Put Lee, first Vice Chairman of LST and son of Mr. Lee Yin Yee, followed his father’s steps. He had actively joined and sponsored different charity projects in LST from 2014 as his family shared the common aspiration in community services with LST. The Lee family sponsored various LST subsidiary units including “Lok Sin Tong Lee Yin Yee United Centre - Support Service Centre for Ethnic Minorities” in 2014, “Lok Sin Tong Lee Sy Ang Long Chinese Medicine Clinic” in 2016 and “Lok Sin Tong Lee Yin Yee Kindergarten” in 2017. Mr. Lee wished that the kindergarten could provide a loving and caring environments to the students with the concerted efforts of the professional teaching team and hence lead them to a brighter future.
A school visit was scheduled for the guests after the ceremony. All guests were impressed by the outstanding school facilities and lesson observation.
