(21st January 2018, Hong Kong) Jointly organized by The Lok Sin Tong Benevolent Society, Kowloon and The Hong Kong Jockey Club, the annual Lok Sin Tong Cup was held today (21 Jan) at Sha Tin Racecourse. It was a 1200m race on turf A course with Class 3 prize money scheduled as Race 6. CALIFORNIA FORTUNE became the champion among the 14 horses while MOST BEAUTIFUL and WISHFUL THINKER won the 1st runner-up and 2nd runner-up respectively.

As a perpetual cup race of The Hong Kong Jockey Club, the Lok Sin Tong Cup has been competed for 17 years. Ir. Kwok Yu Won, Eric, Chairman of Lok Sin Tong, said in the speech that Lok Sin Tong has launched various new services in recent years, including the Lok Sin Tong Community-based Housing Movement which helps inadequately housed low-income families by providing transitional accommodation. It received overwhelming responses and applications. 20 eligible families were able to move into their new home before last Christmas. Chairman Kwok added that Lok Sin Tong will continue to provide quality services to the society with the support from governments, donors and our stakeholders.

Guests attending the event included Mr. Pun Kwok Wah, JP, Chairman of the Kowloon City District Council, Mr. Cho Wui Hung, Vice Chairman of the Kowloon City District Council, Mr. Ho Hin Ming, Joseph, BBS, MH, Chairman of the Housing and Infrastructure Committee, Kowloon City District Council and Mr. Siu Chor Kee, BBS, MH, JP, Chairman of the Advisory Committee on Enhancing Self-Reliance Through District Partnership Programme.
