Lok Sin Tong Charity Cantonese Opera Night - “The Revenge Battle”
Generous donations allowed 200 elderlies to enjoy the show for free

(9 March 2018, Hong Kong) The annual Lok Sin Tong Charity Cantonese Opera Night was successfully held today at the Sunbeam Theatre, North Point. This year, Lok Sin Tong joined hands again with Ming Chee Sing Chinese Opera Troupe in presenting the classical work “The Revenge Battle” which was performed by renowned Cantonese Opera artists including Koi Ming Fai and Ng Mei Ying. All funds raised will be used to support Lok Sin Tong’s medical, educational, elderly and social services. The kick-off ceremony was officiated by Dr. Lam Ching Choi, BBS, JP, Chairman of the Elderly Commission.

At the ceremony, Ir. Kwok Yu Won, Eric, Chairman of Lok Sin Tong extended the gratitude to Ming Chee Sing Chinese Opera Troupe for its continuous support to Lok Sin Tong. He also thanks the donors who supported the “Gift Ticket to Elderly Program” that allowed over 200 elderlies to enjoy the show for free.

Chairman Kwok also mentioned that Lok Sin Tong spares no effort in providing elderly services throughout the years. It now operates 3 elderly homes and 2 neighbourhood elderly centres which offer quality residential care and community support. There are also 2 elder academies to provide diversified programs for elders to participate in activities that can enrich their retirement life. In order to meet the various needs of elderly services, Lok Sin Tong has launched several new units and projects in recent years, e.g. the new speech therapy centre in Mong Kok that provides adult speech therapy for the aged who have swallowing difficulty. Lok Sin Tong is also planning to open its third social enterprise this year to provide quality and affordable rehabilitation products to elderly in need.

Then, Dr. Lam Ching Choi officiated the kick-off ceremony together with Chairman Kwok, Dr. Yang Xiao Ling, 2nd Vice-chairman of Lok Sin Tong, Mrs. Chan Lee Yuk Pui, Kawina, 3rd Vice-chairman of Lok Sin Tong, Koi Ming Fai and Ng Mei Ying. After the ceremony, all main casts including Koi Ming Fai, Ng May Ying, Chan Hung Chun, Lai Yiu Wai, Chan Ka Ming and Lui Hung Kwong came to the front stage and took group photos with the guests.
